The Broadway Road Diet is a reconfiguration of Broadway between California and Orange Streets. The reconfiguration will change Broadway from four to two lanes with a center turn lane and bike lanes.

With the road diet in place, it will be safer to bike on Broadway, the capacity of the road will stay the same, and the number of crashes on the road will probably decrease dramatically. More details on the advantages of the road diet in the stats page.

The project will cost the city another $150,000 to actually implement and if, for any reason, the project does not satisfy the community, Broadway will be changed back to the current system, and the State will pick up the bill.
